The operating budget of Fost Plus in 2020 was €209,996,568. This mainly covers the costs of selective collection, sorting and recycling of household packaging waste.

Excellent results at low cost

The Fost Plus system combines high efficiency with excellent results. In Belgium, selective collecting, sorting and recycling of household packaging waste costs about €15 per person. This makes us one of the cheapest in Europe, while we are ranked among the leaders with a recycling percentage of almost 95%.

Strong increase of plastic packaging recycling - Belgian companies live up to their commitment

The Belgian business community has ambitious targets for the recycling of plastic packaging. In 2020, we achieved a recycling rate of 51.1%, exceeding the Belgian and European recycling targets.
